Job Description


New Vision Veterinary Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our animal patients and excellent customer service to our clients. The veterinarian will be expected to perform a wide range of clinical and administrative tasks, as well as maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting consultations, anamnesis, assessment, and clinical examinations to diagnose medical issues in animal patients.
  2. Performing laboratory tests, including hematology, biochemistry, and microscopy, to aid in the diagnosis of medical conditions.
  3. Utilizing diagnostic imaging and ultrasound tests to further evaluate and diagnose patients.
  4. Performing surgical procedures, dressing and treating wounds, and prescribing medication as needed.
  5. Assuring the medical welfare of hospitalized patients, including daily clinical examinations, therapy, and communication with owners.
  6. Promoting preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations and educating clients on positive diet and lifestyle choices for pets.
  7. Improving patients’ dental health through checkups, cleaning, and extractions.
  8. Conducting home visits as necessary.
  9. Euthanizing patients if necessary with compassion and sensitivity.
  10. Ensuring compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
  11. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
  12. Writing bills for services rendered to clients.
  13. Assisting with the training of students and maintaining a clean and organized working environment.
  14. Providing regular lectures on veterinarian topics to the best of their ability.
  15. Assisting technicians with their work during weekend or holiday shifts.
  16. Being available and flexible for holiday, weekend, and night shifts as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid veterinary license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills, including surgical proficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for client interaction.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of veterinary care and ethical conduct.
