TECHNICAL ASSISTANT IN REHABILITATION DEVELOPMENT

Federation Handicap International, which implements its programs under its operational name  “Humanity & Inclusion” is  recruiting for its project  “Functional Readaptation (RF) ”  a (e) Technical Assistant to the development of readaptation  as part of a salaried position on a fixed-term contract, with a trial period of 3 months.

FUNCTION DESCRIPTION

Under the direct responsibility of the RF Project Manager, the Rehabilitation Development Technical Assistant’s main mission is to support the Rwanda Biomedical Center- Injuries and Disability Unit in the coordination and monitoring of the development of the national functional rehabilitation plan, coaching and mentoring of young graduate occupational therapists with the possibility of entrusting him with any other responsibility for the projects and the program.

More specifically, he / she is responsible for:

  • Support the Rwanda Biomedical Center / Division for the fight against noncommunicable diseases (NCD) with a particular focus on the functional rehabilitation sector.
  • Support the integration of occupational therapy in rehabilitation and health services and its recognition at the national level

  EXPECTED PROFILE

 

Essential

Wish

Diploma (s)  :

 

  • A0 level graduate diploma or equivalent in rehabilitation (physiotherapy, orthoprosthetists, occupational therapy) and other related fields.
  • Excellent mastery of the founding concepts of community-based rehabilitation and the multidisciplinary approach
  • Good writing skills and proficiency in English
  • Complementary training related to recent CBR strategy, disability and inclusion

Experiences  :

 

 

  • Management of rehabilitation programs and / or activities in a national and / or international institution for at least 3 years.

  • Experience in inclusive development
  • Knowledge of policies related to disability and access to inclusive services in Rwanda (health, education, employment, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of the health and rehabilitation system in Rwanda (actors, policies, care, etc.)

Skills :

 

  • Diversified practices in the field of functional rehabilitation in Rwanda.
  • Experience in technical assistance at the level of an institution (at least 3 years) as a technical advisor.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of national health strategies, especially in the field of functional rehabilitation.
  • Experience in coordination and knowledge of those involved in functional rehabilitation.
  • Experience in working with public and private technical rehabilitation institutions and services (at least 3 years).
  • Experience in developing guidelines in the field of functional rehabilitation
  • Experience and good mastery of writing and production of technical documents.
  • Experience with the institutions of the Ministry of Health. knowledge of their technical tools is a plus
