Psychologist

Handicap International Federation is recruiting for its project ” Inclusion of people with specific needs, mental health needs and psychosocial needs in humanitarian programs in Rwanda ” funded by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs Germany  a Psychologist  as part of a salaried position on a term contract Determined (3 months) ..

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Tasks and responsibilities

Under the direct responsibility of the field coordinator, the psychologist is responsible for the implementation of the SM&SP activities of the project in his area with the possibility of entrusting him with responsibilities for other projects and actions in progress on the site. program. More specifically, he / she is responsible for:

  1. Coordination of SM&SP activities
  2. Training, coaching and supervision
  3.  Management of the project’s SM&SP activities
  4. Analysis and reporting
  5. Ensure the quality and impact of activities
  6. Carry out any other responsibilities and tasks assigned by the field coordinator in particular and the program in general.

 EXPECTED PROFILE

Essential

Wish

Diploma (s):
  • University degree at A0 level (license or equivalent) in clinical psychology, health psychology or psychopathology or other fields of mental health.
  • Diploma in Humanitarian Action

Experiences:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in training / awareness actions in the field of psychosocial support and mental health
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in setting up an individual and group psychosocial care system for people with psychosocial difficulties.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in implementing mental health and / or psychosocial coaching / supervision activities
  • Experience of at least 3 years in a refugee project.
  •  Community mental health experience
  • Experience working with organizations or implementing actions aimed at vulnerable people
  • Experience in rural and hard-to-reach areas
  • Experience in managing a team of professionals

Skills:
  • Proven knowledge of the areas of mental health and psychosocial support 
  •  Good computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint software).
  • In-depth knowledge of Kinyarwanda and English required.
  • Knowledge of French desirable.
