Job Description

– Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications;

– Develop, maintain, and monitor procedures for all server backups;

– Monitor, plans, and coordinate the distribution of client/server software and service packs;

– Plan, Monitor and evaluate on
– site and remote technical support;

– Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources;

– Maintain excellent communication with the IT Managers within remote schools on all tasks and projects;

– Provide emergency on
– call support on a rotating schedule;

– Assesses at a top level the required network and systems architecture and infrastructure;

– Identifies the networks, systems and services required to accomplish the ICT in Education objectives;

– Defines hardware, operating system and software specifications for all components including: servers, workstations, switches, routers, firewalls;

– Defines and designs the load balancing and clustering requirements of data and application servers;

– Defines and designs the architecture and requirements of data storage, warehousing, backup and recovery;

– Defines and designs the enterprise security plan;

– Designs and defines specifications, architecture and infrastructure for all required LANs and WANs;

– Participates and contributes to the preparation of the Training Plan;

– Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Profile

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Information Management System, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering or A1 in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Information Management System, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering with a Certifications in A+, N+ is required; Certifications in CCNA, MCSE, MCSD, MCTs (NET), LAMP/WAMP Framework or MCITP are an added advantage.
Key technical skills & knowledge required:

– Knowledge of Rwanda’s ICT policies and strategies;

– Highly proficient with Microsoft Windows operating systems;

– Proficient in Microsoft Office products;

– Proficient in basic networking protocols and standards;

– Knowledge of AD, Exchange, VPN, routers, and wireless internet access;

– Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming;

– Interpersonal skills;

– Communication skills;

– Negotiation skills;

– Problem
– solving skills;

– Analytical skills;Fluent in Kinyarwanda, English or French; knowledge of all these three (3) languages is an advantage.
