VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

To facilitate the implementation of its activities in Kigali, World Relief Rwanda wishes to recruit a qualified and well experienced candidate to fill the position of Internship. The job description and other requirements for this position are as follows:

Department/Division : Grant Acquisition and Management Department

Job Title of Supervisor : Health and Social Protection Senior Manager

Starting Date : As soon as possible.

Length of Opportunity : Six Months

Hours per week : Full time-40 Hrs.

General Function:

The intern will have assignments at field level and will be required to facilitate the Health, Social Protection, Nutrition, Child Protection and other projects. The recruited intern should be having skills required to do documentation, story writing, data compilation and report writing. The intern will be required to support in data collection as enumerators during baseline surveys, midterm evaluation and end-line evaluation of the project cycle.  The intern will be able to support project field officers, attend field activities, participate in home visits, attend workshops organized by field staff, and do record keeping.

Under the direct supervision of the Health and Social Protection Senior Manager, the intern will have the responsibility to provide administrative support to the HSP Senior Manager. He or She must be willing to work at both Kigali and the field offices as guided by the supervisor. He or She must be committed to the mission of the organization and have the intention to grow and serve in a complex and busy office.

Duties:

  • Capture data and relevant information on knowledge and practices of Nutrition and Social Protection projects in districts where World Relief Rwanda has been working
  • Take notes and minutes in meetings and workshops on field
  • Prepare documents for meetings and field trips
  • Develop and maintain a filing system
  • Do field visits as assigned by the supervisor and collect, write stories, take pictures and document in a safe way for easy retrieval all data
  • Be able to do the assignments as enumerators during surveys and project evaluation as assigned by the Project Manager
  • Book travel arrangements
  • Submit and reconcile expense reports from the field staff
  • Liaise with Executive and  Administrative Assistants to handle requests and queries from Senior Manager
  • Age limit: The candidate should not be over 30 years old.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • University student or has completed University.
  • Experience in field activities with or without supervision.
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Skills in story writing and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High School Certificate; additional qualification as an Administrative Assistant or Secretary will be a plus.
