Reporting Structure:

Position Title: HFS Data Collectors (40 Posts)

Project: Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

Position Reports to: Malaria Health Facility Survey Coordinator

Type of Contract: Casual worker

Location: Countrywide

Study Sites: Countrywide

Duration: 4 weeks (20 working days)

Tentative start date: February 2021

Summary Scope of Work:

Jhpiego in collaboration with the Malaria and Other Parasitic Diseases Division/Rwanda Biomedical Center and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will be conducting a Malaria Health Facility Survey (HFS) in Rwanda. The HFS will be conducted to measure progress made in outpatient malaria case management against the national Malaria Treatment Guidelines. Given the early indicators of Artemisinin resistance, this HFS will help to better understand the distribution and prevalence of molecular markers of antimalarial resistance and hrp2/3 deletion in Rwanda. Our proposed scope of work focuses on the implementation of a nationally representative cross-sectional study of health facilities (HF) in Rwanda that provide outpatient malaria case management. The survey will include exit interviews and patient reexaminations.

Jhpiego and its partners are looking for 40 health professionals qualified and highlight motivated candidates

for the position of data collectors to contribute to the success execution of HFS in the whole country.

Responsabilites will be but not limited to:

  • Introduce HFS activities to the health facility and the community
  •  Identify survey participants
  •  Complete documents related to HFS such as Questionnaires, Informed Consent
  •  Ensure the submission of data collected on a daily basis
  • Ensure that the survey is complying to the approved HFS protocol

Required Qualifications :

  • Being Rwandan by nationality
  • Having a bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Biomedical Laboratory, and other relevant health field from a recognized institution by Rwanda High Education Council
  •  Be in possession of valid license
  • More than 3 years experience of working in health facilities
  •  Having experience of more than 3 years in conducting quantitative research related to health such as malaria indicator survey, HFS, and DHS
  • Be familiar with computer assisted interviews (ODK, surveyCTO) and have the ability to use computer, electronic devices, e.g. tablets
  •  Ability to perform blood smear and collect blood specimen on filter papers
  •  Willingness to travel independently and extensively within rural communities
  •  Knowledge of Kinyarwanda, English, or French
