JOB OPPORTUNITY

 EDUCATION PROJECT COORDINATOR

 World Vision Rwanda is a child focused Christian humanitarian organization implementing development programs in 29 Districts of Rwanda.

World Vision Rwanda seeks to hire a highly qualified, dedicated, and experienced national for the position of Education Project Coordinator. The position will be based at Head office-Kigali reporting to the Education in Emergency Manager.

 Purpose of the position:

 Coordinate the planning and implementation of Impact Hope project activities and ensure that the refugee children receive appropriate support. The job holder will contribute to achieving WV Rwanda’s Child Wellbeing, with Child Protection Minimum Standards in designated sectors through planning, implementation, and monitoring projects in line with applicable Technical Approaches and contents based on MINEDUC, MINEMA, and UNHCR.

Planning, coordination and implementation

 

  •  Lead Impact Hope project planning and implementation
  • Develop Work plan and budgets for the project;
  • Implement developed work plan within the approved budget and timelines;
  • Plan and implement successfully TVT training program;
  • Ensure schools as well as students’ requests and complains are addressed on time;
  •  Build relationships with other stakeholders across the education sector relevant to the project (e.g. local authorities, funders, schools, consultants, UNHCR, MINEMA);
  • Produce and manage partnership agreements/ contracts for project partners;
  •  In collaboration with colleagues facilitate the selection of new beneficiaries;
  • Participate in any meeting, which may be called at camp, school or national level in relation to the project.
  • Other activities requested by the supervisor.

Annual plans and budget timely developed and approved

Targeted children benefit from the project

Proposals developed to mobilize more funds

Work plan fully implemented as planned

Project risks assessed and mitigation measures put in place

TVT schools supported

Good collaboration promoted with service providers

Full integration of the project with all partners

Project implanted in line with the partnership agreement

Accurate selection of new beneficiaries done according to the available budget

The project represented whenever necessary

  • Support refugee students in career guidance and tertiary education

Monitoring and Evaluation, Learning and reporting

 

  • Ensure effective documentation of all the information related to the project success stories, innovations, and best practices and disseminate them through appropriate mechanisms.
  •  Prepare and submit, monthly and quarterly accurate and quality reports based on relevant templates.
  •  Closely monitor the project implementation and suggest improvements to the project management.
  • Keep project data up to date all the time.
  • Day to day Follow up of students and handling their challenges  including regular visits at  schools;
  •  Ensure that project information is shared to the extent possible and that appropriate decisions are made;

Proper documentation of the success stories and best practices is done regularly

Developed Monitoring tools and approved by DME and HEA managers

Periodic quality reports are done timely

Lessons learnt are provided to inform improvement in the project.

Project data updated regularly

Students supported regularly

Project data inform the decision making

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, and Clinical Psychology.
  • 3 years’ experience in coordinating education project
  • Experience in working with most vulnerable communities including refugees
  • Strong coordination skills to manage the project
  • Strong computer skills in word, excel, and PowerPoint

Salary:

The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
