Job Description


CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The Francophone Cultural Center of Rwanda (CCFR) is administratively managed by the French Institute of Rwanda.

Throughout the year, the CCFR offers language courses, a multidisciplinary cultural program (concerts, theatre, dance, exhibitions, conferences, cinema, etc.) and access to books in a media library specializing in youth. Its audience is made up of young children and their parents, Rwandan students, professionals from the public and private sectors.

The CCFR wishes to offer a catering – refreshment – bar service through “le Bistrot de Kigali”. This service will be set up in a space with a terrace located inside a large garden. It will be accessible to all, users of the cultural center as well as external customers, from Monday to Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

This café/bar/restaurant is rented by the French Institute of Rwanda, in the form of a renewable three-year under-occupancy agreement (setting the terms of rent and share related to charges and to turnover).

The French Institute of Rwanda is launching a call for applications for the management of its café/bar/restaurant. 

The service provider will be required to respond regularly to catering orders for cocktails organized by the French Embassy and by external customers renting the spaces for private events decided by the CCFR. The future manager must have knowledge of French cuisine, must demonstrate professionalism in the service, he must also adhere to the ethical values ​​of the CCFR, an apolitical and non-confessional space, favorable to the dialogue of cultures.

The application must consist of:

  • A note presenting the project/concept (culinary, service, etc.) of the café/bar/restaurant “Le bistrot de Kigali”: the candidate will also indicate the strategy he intends to develop in terms of communication to reach new customers ( nb: the name of the bistro cannot be changed, a graphic charter can be proposed to the selected service provider).
  • A plan presenting the design concept of the restaurant (the bistro café/bar/restaurant is made up of a container and a small terrace that can be extended into the garden).
  • A forecast table/investment plan indicating the forecast turnover.
  • A card proposal (with price indication), including in particular:
  1. Several fast and tasty food options;
  2. A daily. A “French cuisine” connotation could be appreciated but is not mandatory;
  3. Varied breakfasts/desserts;
  4. A choice of non-alcoholic (natural juices) and alcoholic (wine/beer) drinks.
  • References of experience in the field of catering and in the catering function as well as a presentation of the people who will be in charge of the café/bar/restaurant.
  • Methods of management and management of the kitchen and room teams.

The entire file must be written in French.
