Job Description


INVITATION TO TENDER 

The Network of Women Working for Rural Development (Women’s Network) is a national non-governmental organization of public interest, created in 1986 and governed by Law No. 04/2012 of 17/02/2012 on the organization and functioning of organizations national non-governmental organizations.

The Women’s Network since December 2022 in partnership with AMIE Canada, has been running the  “Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Rwanda (SDSR-Rwanda)” Project.

The project aims to achieve the following ultimate outcome: increased enjoyment of human rights related to health by the most marginalized and vulnerable rights holders, in particular women, adolescent girls and children. It will intervene at the level of: i) capacity building (training) in SDSR for community workers and care providers and administrators identified within health establishments, ii) sensitization of diverse groups of women, adolescents .es as well as awareness raising for the benefit of the general public; (iii) improved SRHR service delivery to target groups. The project will be based in Gasabo District.

It is within this framework that the Women’s Network would like to recruit the following personnel for the execution of this project .

Position Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Ensure a friendly welcome and create confidence in the beneficiaries of project services;
  2. Design appropriate strategies to attract and support project beneficiaries;
  3. Create and maintain an attractive environment for the beneficiaries of the SDSR project;
  4. Coordinate the activities of rainworkers/peer educators
  5. Organize and lead training and awareness-raising workshops on SDSR as well as activities related to the support of target groups;
  6. Organize sensitization/mobilization campaigns at the community level to mark international days relating to sexual and reproductive health and rights, and women’s rights.
  7. Contribute to the identification and development of success stories related to the expected results of the project;
  8. Contribute to the process of collecting and compiling data and highlighting the progress of indicators and ensuring the updating of the SDSR project database;
  9. Through individual meetings and group and/or family exchanges with beneficiaries, provide mediation services, psychological assessment of their situation and problems and determine the nature of the services they need;
  10. Contribute in the publication and documentation of lessons learned, good practices and achievements of the SDSR project;
  11. Facilitate the administrative and logistical procedures of the activities in coordination with the administrative team of the project
  12. Contribute to the effective management of the budget allocated to the project;
  13. Manage, supervise and mentor project consultants and service providers;
  14. Prepare activity reports and produce a contribution to the periodic reports of the project.
  15. Submit the monthly report of HIV test kits and consumables used by rainworkers/Pair Educators and report on needs and requisition the necessary materials in collaboration with the laboratory nurse;
  16. Perform other tasks assigned to him by his supervisor in relation to his skills.

Job requirements

  1. Possession of a university degree (A0) in Social Science, Educational Science and other related field;
  2. 5 years of professional experience in the field of SRHR and services related to sexual violence, gender-based violence, is a great asset;
  3. Experience working with adolescents at the community level is a strong asset;
  4. Confidentiality, responsibility and autonomy;
  5. Sensitivity to gender issues;
  6. Demonstrate supervision of young people;
  7. Work experience in youth centers (Youth friendly centers) is a major asset;
  8. Experience in supporting victims based on gender and sexual violence;
  9. Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills, teamwork and capacity for judgment and decision-making;
  10. Having a spirit of initiative and creativity in the animation of meetings, training workshops and youth events is an asset;
  11. Computer proficiency (Microsoft package);

Fluency in Kinyarwanda, French and/or English (written and oral) is required.
