The Belgian School of Kigali is looking for a  DI science teacher

The Belgian School of Kigali

The Belgian School of Kigali is an international private school. It has existed for over 55 years. Created by Belgian cooperation, it is now managed by a non-profit organization under Rwandan law. It is mainly financed by the school fees paid by the parents. All sections follow the programs of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. The school receives periodic inspection, and its diplomas are recognized by the Federation. Thus, its historical links with Belgium are maintained.

The hallmark of the school is that of quality education and a humane and benevolent environment. So that the best is given to our students, we are demanding with our teachers! We expect from them dynamism, inventiveness, involvement, empathy, and also adaptation and flexibility. During the COVID-19 crisis, we had to find new solutions on our own – thanks to teachers who demonstrated these qualities.

We welcome very different profiles to the school: young graduates as well as people with experience or families with children. 

We are looking for :

An AESI lower degree science teacher

By default, we favor candidates with a title issued by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, and experience in schools following Belgian programs.

However, insofar as his profile sets him apart, a candidate from another education system may be admitted.

Function :

  • Teach science courses in Secondary 1 and 2, as well as biology, physics and chemistry courses in Secondary 3.
  • Follow, for all these courses, the letter and the spirit of the programs of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
  • Participate in all activities – meetings, consultations, class councils, school life activities, etc. – 
  • Putting the learner at the center of his approach. Be innovative in the way of teaching.
  • Ensure the well-being of the student and make every effort to facilitate his acquisition of knowledge and skills in these courses.

Candidate profile

  • Hold the required title, preferably issued by the FWB.
  • Express yourself correctly in French, both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to fit into a team;
  • Demonstrate rigor, empathy, ability to reinvent oneself, firmness, adaptation and communication skills.
