VACANCY NOTICE

FXB Rwanda is a local Rwandan Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) created in February 2012. It is affiliated with FXB International; an international NGO created in 1989, whose mission is to fight against poverty and improve the living conditions of the vulnerable. To carry out its activities well, FXB Rwanda implements different programs through different projects. It is with this in mind that FXB Rwanda is currently seeking to recruit an A0 level agronomist whose criteria are detailed below.  

Job title:  Agronomist

Supervisor:  Coordinator

Duration:  One year renewable depending on performance

WORK OBJECTIVE:

The agronomist is responsible for helping the beneficiaries of the programs to implement their activities relating to agriculture and to make the yields/harvests profitable. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach beneficiaries to cultivate crops according to specific seasons and according to climatic realities, 
• Teach beneficiaries modern farming techniques;
• Help farmers to increase their yields in order to promote themselves economically;
•  Follow-up of Farmer Field Schools (CEP) of beneficiaries;  
• Help the groups of beneficiaries to find the fields to be developed in the field of agriculture and livestock,
• Regularly visit the fields of the beneficiaries and give them advice: from the start of the growing season to the harvest and economic use of the yield,
• Collaborate closely with the agronomists of the sectors, district in the implementation of the agricultural activities of the programs,
• Help groups of beneficiaries to develop and find the market for their crops; 
• Give reports periodically and those of activities carried out.
• Perform any other task assigned by his superiors. 

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• A0 diploma in Agronomy, or A0 in Rural Engineering;
• 2 years of experience in the field of agronomy, farmer field schools, 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, French and Kinyarwanda;
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, G-suites;
• Have qualities to work in a team;
• Have a category A driving license;
