Accounts Receivable Position

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join our company as an Accounts Receivable Accountant. As part of our team, you will maintain and administer accounts receivable records and files, process bank payments, prepare daily financial reports, and facilitate collections as necessary. Our preferred candidate has at least a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field. We strongly prefer candidates with CPA certification. You must have two or more years of experience in an accounts receivable environment, including experience with reconciling accounts, making deposits, managing a general ledger, and creating reports for stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain up-to-date billing system in QuickBooks.
  • Generate and send out invoices to customers.
  • Follow up on, collect and allocate payments.
  • Carry out billing, collection, and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities and generate aged receivables.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records, investigate, and resolve customer queries.
  • Prepare weekly export reconciliation and other reports as may be required.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Develop a recovery system and initiate collection efforts and communicate with customers and assist with month-end closing.
  • Preparing bank reconciliations, aging reports, and statements of Accounts.
  • Following up on payments with internal and external stakeholders to ensure correct booking of received payments.
  • Proactively engaging in continuous improvement initiatives for the AR process.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field
  • CPA certification highly preferred
  • Two years of experience in an accounts receivable or accounts payable environment Experience with account reconciliation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with invoicing and data entry In Quick books.
  • You are organized and possess high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with all standard accounting and presentation software and platforms
