Job Description

1. Assessing patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate ultrasound
techniques;

2. Performing a range of sonographic examinations on patients to produce high
– quality images;

3. Observing and maintaining care contact for patients throughout their waiting time, examination
and post
– examination stay in the department to ensure their safety and comfort;
4. Assisting in more complex sonographic examinations under the supervision of a radiologist and
senior staff;
5. Providing support and reassurance to patients, preparing patient for exam by explaining
procedure, taking into account their physical and psychological needs;
6. Recording imaging identification and patient documentation quickly and accurately and
observing protocols to ensure compliance with Guidelines / radiological practices and patient
confidentiality;
7. Provide oral or written summary of technical findings to requesting physicians for use in
medical diagnosis in timely manner, and search for radiologist’s support when appropriate,
especially for emergent cases.
8. Understanding and observing health and safety at work and welfare issues, including ionizing
radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others;

9. Ensuring that equipment is regularly checked for malfunctions and any faults are reported;
10. Supervise and train students rotating in the Department;
11. Participate in quality assurance / accreditation process of the Hospital;
12. Attend and actively participate in clinical departmental meetings;
13. Perform other related duties as required.
