FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Administration and Finance Officer, he will be responsible for ensuring the compliance and proper management of the organization’s vehicle assigned to him in accordance with the laws in force in Rwanda and the policies and procedures. of this.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The driver will have to perform the following tasks

  • Become familiar with and understand CECI’s mission, organizational arrangements, policies, procedures and practices

Trips and errands

  1. Transport staff when necessary as part of the needs of their work
  2. Greet visitors and transport them to their hotel;
  3. Keep the logbook up to date by indicating the movements of the vehicle put into circulation
  4. Coordinate with the Administrative and Financial Assistant visits to the bank, post office, suppliers, partners and other agencies as required.
  5. Collect mail and deliver various documents as requested by the supervisor;

Fleet management

  1. Follow CECI Rwanda vehicle driving rules and regulations at all times;
  2. Ensure the safety and security of the vehicle, personnel and luggage, ensuring that road discipline and traffic rules are respected;
  3. Establish and follow the daily maintenance schedule for the assigned vehicle;
  4. Detect mechanical problems / breakdowns and repair or follow up on the repair in collaboration with the supervisor.
  5. Keep the supervisor informed of any problems or anomalies found on the vehicle;
  6. Immediately report in writing to the supervisor any damage to the vehicle during outings and follow related procedures. Maintain a checklist of spare parts, jack, tool box to ensure care and accountability.
  7. Ensure that the administrative documents (insurance, gray card, vehicle are up to date;
  8. Follow up on major repairs with pre-identified garages;
  9. Maintain proper records of consumables used and maintenance performed for the vehicle;
  10. Ensure the ownership of the vehicle;
  11. Perform any other duties that may be assigned;

Training, experience and skills required

  • Hold at least an A2 humanitarian studies diploma in automobile mechanics, electricity, or in a similar field with 5 years of continuous driving experience in general;
  • Hold a valid driver’s license (Category B) accepted on the national territory in Rwanda
  • Experience in an NGO is a plus
  • Experience using computers, Microsoft Office suite, such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
  • Flexible in terms of working hours.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Good knowledge of routes within Rwanda.

Languages

  • Fluency in French is required, working knowledge of English and Kinyarwanda is an advantage
