POSITION: Senior Finance Associate

LOCATION: Kigali – Kimihurura

REPORTS TO: Financial Controller

Term: Full time (40 hours/wk)

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Inkomoko seeks a highly talented and experienced Senior Finance Associate to work with our Finance team. The Senior Finance Associate will be reporting to the Financial controller and he/she will be responsible for accuracy and completeness of financial transactions and adherence to financial controls and policies with core responsibilities as follows:

Accounting & Financial Controls

Review bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
Review petty cash usage and balance on a weekly basis and prior to replenishment
Ensure maintenance of a proper filing system for contracts, revenues, expenses and other financial documents
Management of supplier and clients’ contracts
Prepare accruals and prepayments on a monthly basis and ensure correct accounting treatment
Declare and pay taxes on a timely basis and ensure compliance with applicable local tax laws and regulations
Handle tax audits with support from the Financial Controller
Maintain a schedule of due dates for clients bills and ensure timely billing of clients
Follow up all client bills and ensure timely payment of due amounts
Prepare EBM invoices for clients
Prepare receivables aging reports
Record fixed/ intangible asset additions and disposals into the system on a timely basis
Running depreciation/ amortization expense at the end of every month
Perform physical assets verification twice a year
Review payroll postings in the system on a monthly basis
Update exchange rates in the system and ensure correct valuation of foreign-denominated balances at the end of every month
Review the general ledger transactions on a monthly basis to ensure completeness and accuracy
Prepare monthly management accounts and ensure timely submission to Financial Controller
Ensure that the financial transactions and reports adhere to International Financial Reporting Standards
Work with the Financial Controller in handling the Year-End Statutory Audit
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for candidates who will navigate fast-paced and resource-constrained environments with enthusiasm, patience, a sense of humor, and imagination.

Minimum qualifications include:

University degree in accounting or related field. Professional qualification CPA or ACCA is an added advantage
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and skills in using accounting softwares
Good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and Rwandan tax law
Ability to assess risks and exercise reasonable judgment in making decision
Analytical skills with the ability to pay attention to details
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently with the highest level of personal integrity
At least 3 years of work experience in accounting and finance, or other relevant field.
English and Kinyarwanda fluency required, French also preferred
