CALL FOR TENDERS FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF SECRETARY-ACCOUNTANT

Medicus Mundi  Navarra-Aragon-Madrid  is a non-profit association created in February 2015 by the merger of the Medicus Mundi associations of Navarra, Aragon and Madrid, whose historical work began in 1972. In Rwanda, Medicus Mundi Navarra has been recognized as a historical partner of the Nemba hospital since its foundation in 1974. It is independent in its actions since its decisions are not subject to any political group, economic institution or religious denomination.

As part of strengthening its local team in Nemba, Gakenke District, the Medicusmundi-Navarra-Aragon-Madrid delegation in Rwanda would like to recruit a secretary-accountant.

JOB DESCRIPTION: SECRETARY-ACCOUNTANT

General tasks

• Economic management of projects and financial reporting to the Ministry of Health.
• Monitoring the completion of the procedures manual.
• Tax management and audit preparation.
• Support to the coordinator for issues that involve financial commitments for the organization, particularly contracts.

Task details

• He/she keeps the organization’s accounts in Rwanda according to the procedures manual in place.
• He/she ensures that expenditure is in line with the project budget.
• He/she ensures budgetary allocations.
• He/she ensures the correct use of the allocated funds.
• He/she makes financial reports for the projects.
• He/she responds to remarks and comments made by the hierarchy on financial reports.
• He/she carries out all accounting entries
• He/she assists the project manager in drafting and applying contacts
• He/she participates in procurement procedures
• He/she monitors bank accounts and cash flow 
• He/she takes care of bank reconciliation
• He/she prepares payroll lists and makes tax and social security declarations.
• He/she carries out periodic inventory work and monitoring of fixed assets.
• He/she assists the coordinator and the technical team in the development of annual projects and plans in their budgetary aspects.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Have a level A1 diploma in the field of management and/or accounting or economics
• Have at least two years of experience.
• Have knowledge of finance, accounting, taxation, human resources and logistics
• Know how to analyze and interpret financial accounts
• Demonstrate organization, critical thinking and initiative
• Be proactive and know how to work under pressure and in a team.
• Have good knowledge of Excel
• Having already worked with international organizations would be an asset
• Have a good command of French and/or English. Knowledge of both languages ​​would be an asset. 
• Have a good moral reputation

WORKPLACE AND SCHEDULE

• Work Location: Nemba, Gakenke District
• Schedule: 40 hours/week (full time).
• Net salary: 300,000 Rwf/month + Health insurance.
• Contract duration: 1 year renewable
