To support its development and strengthen its teams, ATLANTIQUE MICROFINANCE Rwanda Plc is recruiting:  A Risk and Compliance Manager.

RISK AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER

Reporting to  : General Manager

General Description:

You are responsible for the design and implementation of strategies enabling better monitoring and prevention against all kinds of risks for the company ATLANTIQUE MICROFINANCE RWANDA.

Description of the tasks:

• Implement a business continuity plan to prevent business interruption from harming the company
• Implement and maintain the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing program.
• Develop the risk register – Identify and assess the different types of risks (financial, operational, credit, market, liquidity, etc.) to which the institution could be exposed.
• Develop the institution’s risk map
• Establish monitoring mechanisms to ensure continuous monitoring of risks and adjust strategies according to changes in the economic and regulatory environment.
• Develop and propose risk mitigation measures to reduce risks to an acceptable level.
• Monitor the evolution of laws, regulations and standards applicable to the microfinance sector, both nationally and internationally.
• Verify that all microfinance operations and activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements and best practices in the sector.
• Prepare and submit reports required by regulatory authorities, ensuring their accuracy and compliance.
• Train employees on risk management and compliance practices.
• Develop internal policies and procedures tailored to risk management and compliance for all staff.
• Identify, address and promptly resolve non-compliance situations or risk incidents that could affect the integrity and reputation of the institution.
• Develop risk management and compliance action plans.
• Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of risk management and compliance within the institution.
• Communicate and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, ensuring transparency and proper conduct of microfinance.
• Train staff on compliance and risk management and promote a culture of compliance.

• Mastery of financial, organizational, ecological security standards…
• Knowledge of financial risk management principles and practices
• Planning skills
• Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences
• Ability to manage complex projects
• Ability to make strategic decisions
• Animation of the Risks and Opportunities (R&O) identification process and their treatment plan
• Support for risk and action pilots during the risk characterization exercise and associated costs
• Reporting: creation of indicators, updating and communication to project contacts
• Coordination of the various project stakeholders and guarantor of the overall vision of the project’s R&O.
• Rigor in the methodological approach and in the production of the various reports;
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
• Initiative, ability to propose constructive and valuable solutions;
• Availability and strong work capacity;
• Curiosity and a sense of constructive criticism developed;
• Integrity and discretion;
• Good managerial skills.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

Have at least a bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Commerce, Management, Finance or related field with at least 4 years of experience in a similar position and must be able to speak and write French.
