Purpose: Bboxx is a UK-based Next Generation Utility company providing affordable, reliable, and clean energy solutions to meet off-grid customers’ energy needs. Our market leading products and appliances coupled with our SMART Solar platform bring machine-learning and customer experience optimization to rural Africa. As Bboxx continues to scale its business; the equipment refurbishing workload is significantly increasing at distribution centre. As such, a Repair Supervisor manages the repair Supervisors across Bboxx repair center and is a single report to the regional repair center manager (line). Repair supervisor is responsible for repair technician’s performance, throughput, quality of repairs and cost related reports.
Main purpose of the role:
- Manage the E-waste policy and end-of-life for all Bboxx branded products
- To work closely with the Repairs technicians to achieve continuous improvement in the delivery of the repairs service and throughout.
- To lead a team of technicians and staff in the inspection, scheduling, ordering and post inspection of repairs into repair centres
- To ensure efficient and effective responses are provided to all enquiries and complaints regarding repairs.
- To assist and deputise for the repair Centre staff as required.
- Manage execution of products repair process for debugging and repair of products.
- To accurately track and report monthly spare parts usage from repair Centre.
- Ensure all products in the repair centre fit well within internal systems.
- To explore future need of Bboxx Repair centre.
Team Management
- To Lead a team of technicians and Logistics staff in all aspects relating to the delivery of the Refurbishment.
- To lead in the development of repair centre working environment, right first time, continuous improvement, and value for money; all through the appropriate use of resources.
- To lead, motivate and support staff, define workloads and priorities, and continually review, evaluate, and improve team performance in line with service targets.
- To undertake resource planning and prioritisation to ensure that work is carried out within agreed timescales.
- To ensure repair Technicians and Logistics staff have the necessary training, experience, and qualifications to carry out their duties.
- To ensure security and Health and Safety within the repair centre and working practices.
- To conduct team meetings, 1:1 supervision sessions and other meetings
- To lead and arrange training as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Degree level education in engineering (Electronics engineering or related subjects or equivalent through relevant training and/or experience).
- Experience working with renewable energy technologies
- 2 years minimum work experience in SHS repairs
- Proficiency in IT and an understanding of the value and use of new technologies in improving services.
- An ability to lead and manage staff, plan resources, set targets and monitor performance successfully to achieve service objectives.
- The ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels on both a one to one and group basis.
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan workload, manage time effectively and meet deadlines whilst working under pressure.
- Data analysis skills using MS excel.
- Proficiency in English
- Proficiency in French is a plus
