Vacancy Announcement

One Mainstreaming Coordinator for GIZ Rwanda

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federally owned international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. GIZ has worked in Rwanda for over 30 years. The primary objectives between the Government of Rwanda and the Federal Republic of Germany are poverty reduction and promotion of sustainable development. To achieve these objectives, GIZ Rwanda is active in the sectors of Decentralization and Good Governance, Economic Development and Employment Promotion, Energy and Information and Communications Technology.

Through its One Mainstreaming approach, GIZ aims to ensure that all its projects contribute to gender equality and inclusion of persons with disabilities and consider the risks and impact of HIV/AIDS. The overarching cross-cutting topic “Leave No One Behind” addresses the needs and rights of vulnerable groups. This means that One Mainstreaming supports the projects to make sure their design, implementation, and M&E consider the following:

how men, women, and persons with disabilities (PWD) are affected differently by the core issues the project addresses, and how they can benefit equally from the opportunities provided by the project interventions
whether HIV/AIDS poses a risk to the attainment of the project goals and objectives, and if so, how this can be mitigated
whether the project interventions do not unconsciously worsen gender inequality, exclusion of PWDs and HIV/AIDS, and if so, how this can be mitigated (Do No Harm concept)
