LOGISTICS MANAGER

Handicap International Federation, which implements its programs under its operational name  “Humanity & Inclusion” is  recruiting for its program  a Logistics Manager  as part of a salaried position on a Fixed-Term Contract, with a trial period of 3 months.

DESCRIPTION OF THE FUNCTION

Under the direct hierarchical responsibility of the Country Manager, and in collaboration with the various head office departments, the Logistics Manager is responsible for the proper management of the program’s logistics resources. He is the privileged interlocutor of the Country Manager and as such alerts him and offers solutions within his scope of responsibility.

He actively participates in the gradual reorganization of HI in the field as part of the ROOTS project. It is a key element in the deployment and implementation of logistics standards consisting of an overhaul of the positioning of logistics at HI and the affirmation of the principle of the business sector.

Finally, he ensures the safety of the human and material resources of the program, as Logistics Manager.

More specifically he / she will be responsible for:

  • Operational safety management

  EXPECTED PROFILE

 

Essential

Wish

Diploma (s)  :

  • A0-level university degree (bachelor’s or equivalent) in logistics management, transport logistics, supply chain management or other relevant related field
  • Have a definitive Category B driving license

  • Diploma or certificate in humanitarian action
  • Have participated in several logistics training
  • Have a certificate in security management

Experiences  :

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in logistics management
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the preparation of project procurements
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the implementation of logistics activities
  • Experience of at least 4 years in a development program ……
  •   Team management experience
  •   Training / capacity building experience
  • Experience in managing professional teams
  • Logistics experience in international NGOs
  •  Have managed at least a team of 20 people
  •   Have worked in
  • HI logistics would be an asset
  •  Knowledge of HI processes is an added value

Skills :

  • Proven knowledge in the field of logistics
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint software).
  • In-depth knowledge of Kinyarwanda and English required.
  • Ability to deliver a large workload under constant pressure
  •  Excellent responsiveness and flexibility in all circumstances
  • Good interpersonal skills, great capacity for communication and negotiation
  • Rigor in the application of procedures and a high and constant level of control
  • Any additional knowledge / skills in areas related to logistics (telecommunications, security, etc.) will be of added value
  • Knowledge of French desirable.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365
