CHIEF OF INTERNAL AUDIT RECRUITMENT NOTICE

 INTRODUCTION

The COPEDU PLC is a microfinance institution created in 2012 with the legal form of a limited liability company, which resulted from the transformation of the Cooperative of Savings and Credit Duterimbere (COOPEDU), the COPEDU PLC was approved by the National Bank in 2014 to carry out financial savings and loan activities.

1.     MISSION

The mission of the COPEDU PLC, “its raison d’être”, is to Offer Inclusive Financial Services for a Socio-Economic Development of its Customers.

The target customers of COPEDU PLC are small or medium businesses, without distinction. The main target is women who produce, process or operate in the service and trade sector. Specific products are developed to meet their needs and employees are also part of the sought after clientele.

2.     VISION

The vision of the COPEDU PLC is to be a benchmark bank for women in Africa. The strategic plan and its execution should be aligned with this vision by enabling the COPEDU PLC to achieve its precise objectives.

The COPEDU PLC occupies an enviable place in the microfinance sector. It is ranked among the best performing microfinance institutions in Rwanda.

To achieve this vision, the COPEDU PLC wishes to recruit a qualified Internal Audit Manager with sufficient knowledge:

3.    TASK DESCRIPTIONS

Under the supervision of the Director General, the Head of Internal Audit’s mission is to anticipate risks that could harm the results of the COPEDU Plc, and to develop tools to mitigate these risks. He must :

  • Develop the annual Audit plan and ensure its execution.
  • Ensure the control of the operations of the COPEDU Plc
  • Control the information system of the COPEDU Plc
  • Ensure compliance with required prudential and non-prudential standards
  • Check the quality of management of finances, materials and Human Resources
  • Check compliance in terms of the credit management procedure
  • Check the compliance of the social capital mobilization procedure and ensure corrections if necessary as soon as possible.
  • Take stock of the physical situation of asset management
  • Periodically analyze the structure of charges and issue the necessary opinions
  • Periodically interpret variances in budget achievement
  • Prevent all forms of fraud and risks that the company may run
  • Make relevant proposals in the event of anomalies observed
  • Ensure the implementation of these recommendations.
  • Work closely with external audit missions
  • Ensure the veracity of the reports drawn up by the departments
  • Ensure compliance with the statutes and other regulations of the COPEDU Plc.
  • Monitor compliance with policies and instructions in force
  • Coordinate the activities of the department
  • Prepare and evaluate the performance indicators of his department
  • Plan and periodically evaluate the activities of the Department
  • Produce periodic reports
  • Perform all other similar tasks entrusted to him by his superiors.

4.     PROFILE AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be between 30 and 45 years old
  • A0 in Audit, Finance, Administrative management or similar field
  • Have a professional accountant certificate (for example CPA)
  • At least 5 years of experience in the audit field including at least 3 years of managerial experience.
  • Control of banking risks
  • Proficiency in auditing techniques based on professional standards: planning, verification, conclusion
  • Know how to take a step back and have critical analysis skills
  • Have a good spirit of analysis, synthesis and management
  • Be perfectly at ease in Kinyarwanda, French and / or English both orally and in writing
  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent knowledge of IT tools and software used in auditing
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Flexibility and firmness
  • Sense of contact and thoroughness
  • Ability to manage a team and great listening skills
  • Integrity and ethics
