Job Description


NOTICE OF CALL FOR TENDERS

The Network of Women Working for Rural Development (Women’s Network) is a national non-governmental organization of public interest, created in 1986 and governed by Law No. 04/2012 of 17/02/2012 on the organization and operation of national non-governmental organizations.

Since December 2022, in partnership with AMIE, the Women’s Network has been implementing the  “Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Rwanda (SRHR-Rwanda)” Project.

The project aims to achieve the following ultimate outcome: increased enjoyment of human rights related to health by the most marginalized and vulnerable rights holders, particularly women, adolescent girls and children. It will intervene at the level of: i) capacity building (training) in SRHR for community stakeholders, ii) awareness raising for diverse groups of women, adolescents as well as awareness raising for the benefit of the general public, iii) improvement of the delivery of SRHR services for target groups.

In addition, a Karame Specialized Clinic is established at the Headquarters of the Women’s Network in Kinyinya, the Clinic is used among other things for the screening and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), pregnancy monitoring with particular attention to teenage mothers and vulnerable mothers, prevention and treatment of STIs, carrying out family planning, etc.

The project is based in Gasabo District, Kigali City. It is in this context that the Women’s Network would like to recruit the following staff:

Position: Gynecologist

Profile, qualification and technical competence of the candidate

Job Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Be responsible for the services of the Karame Specialized Clinic, including screening and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), pregnancy monitoring with particular attention to teenage mothers and vulnerable mothers, prevention of STIs and determining the appropriate techniques and positions for carrying out family planning, etc.;
  2. Provide quality customer service and ensure patient satisfaction and refer customers to other healthcare establishments as needed;
  3. Provide advice to the organization’s leaders regarding the materials and equipment necessary for the proper functioning of the Karame Specialized Clinic;
  4. Support the SDSR project team in the production and updating of programs and services related to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights;
  5. Ensure compliance with medical standards and the integration of good professional practices by the entire team at the Karame Specialized Clinic;
  6. Support the Women’s Network in advocacy and awareness-raising meetings on Sexual and Reproductive Health rights;
  7. Analyze and certify the Karame Specialized Clinic guide documents produced by the SDSR project team;
  8. Ensure compliance with the health and safety policy, guidelines and standards of the Karame Specialized Clinic and SDSR services.
  9. Analyze and identify recommendations regarding the sustainability and expansion of the services of the Karame Specialized Clinic;
  10. Strengthening the capacities of the SDSR project team in the context of sexual and reproductive health
  11. Adhere to the mission and vision of the Ministry of Health on reproductive health;
  12. Create partnerships with public and private institutions working on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.

Experiences, requirements, knowledge and skills

  1. Possession of a university degree in gynecology;
  2. Possession of a valid work license;
  3. Experience working in sexual violence services
  4. Excellent communication skills, planning, teamwork and judgment and decision-making skills;
  5. Computer skills;
  6. Be available to work full time;
  7. Counseling experience is a great asset.
  8. Fluency in written and oral Kinyarwanda and French and/or English is required. Knowledge of all three languages ​​would be an asset.
