Position: Finance & Operations Senior Manager
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Type of Contract: Open-ended
Job Description:
As the Finance & Operations Senior Manager you will develop, direct, and manage all aspects of the Abundant Leadership Institute Foundation (ALIF) finances, operations, and logistics including grants and projects in order to ensure the organization and its programs run smoothly.
You will provide overall management of finances, by promoting financial stewardship, accountability, reliability, and accuracy.
Anticipated Start Date: August or September 2020
Reporting to: The Country Director
Working Closely with: The Country Director
Location: Kigali / Rwanda
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the overall financial management and reporting of ALIF Rwanda and ensure financial compliance vis a vis all relevant authorities.
- Ensure that accounting requests are resolved and communicated in a timely manner to internal and external parties.
- Ensure that appropriate financial and procurement procedures are in place, well communicated, and properly enforced throughout the organization.
- Invoice funding sources, including calculation of completed units of service.
- Oversee day-to-day processing of accounts receivable and payable, producing regular monthly financial reports and other financial reports as requested.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly activity, generating year-end reports, and fulfilling tax related requirements: tax compliance to Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) and disburse Rwanda Social Security Fund (RSSF) staff contributions.
- Maintain and monitor accounting systems and procedures, capturing all billings and receipts, recording all transfers and revenue transactions, and recommending and implementing improvements deemed necessary.
- Ensure full compliance with Rwandan tax law.
- Prepare for local audits in compliance with Rwandan tax law.
- Prepare for a successful re-registration with the Rwanda Governance Board and maintain reporting processes.
- Provide and model servant leadership.
- Oversee operational logistics, support services (such as security, catering, cleaning) and facilities management.
- Oversee logistics for students, facilitators, and other guests interested in our work.
- Support the success program participants by overseeing thorough record-keeping and their accommodations.

Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in finance, accounting, management, business administration, or a related field).
- Rwandan citizenship.
Expected Experience and Skills:
- Minimum five years of financial, accounting, or project management experience within an international organization OR a Master’s Degree in finance or a related field and three years of financial, accounting, or project management experience within an international organization.
- Practical knowledge of financial systems, budgeting, management, and internal controls.
- Proven knowledge and experience in accounting software (especially Online QuickBooks), spreadsheet applications, and an understanding of data processing concepts and systems.
- Team management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in English, French, and Kinyarwanda are an added bonus.

- Excellent interpersonal skills: enjoys working with people, encouraging, sharing ideas, motivating, has a positive ‘can-do’ attitude (required)
- Ability to act as a project leader/implementer and part of a wider team.
