JOB OFFER

The partnership between Rhineland-Palatinate and Rwanda has existed for more than 40 years. It began in 1982 as an unusual attempt by two countries to reshape development policy and has now become an internationally recognised model of citizen-oriented, decentralised, and efficient international cooperation at the local level. The Coordination Office of the Partnership between Rhineland-Palatinate and Rwanda (Jumelage) oversees most of the projects carried out within the framework of the partnership.

The Coordination Office of the Partnership Rhineland-Palatinate/Rwanda is looking for a Finance Officer

General tasks:

  • To prepare and provide documents for diverse financial transactions
  • To summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, individual financial statements and other reports
  • To prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
  • To conduct the correct transfer of funds from diverse partners
  • To take care of all daily accounting activities and bookkeeping
  • To prepare invoices for diverse partners
  • To prepare, monitor and follow up on monthly payments
  • To provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing relevant data
  • To provide accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • To prepare the request for funds
  • To prepare and provide diverse financial reports
  • To support the preparation of the annual budget and provide all necessary information for the regular budget follow-up

Required qualifications and competencies:

  • A university degree (Bachelor level) in accounting or finance
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of standard accounting software and of MS Office programs
  • Strong knowledge of all current laws and regulations related to finance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda, German and French language skills are an asset
  • General profound math skills
