Overall Responsibility:
The role of the FSE is to maintain an existing base of clients and to bring in new business from the
allocated territory. The maintenance is to be done on a call cycle. The FSE is required to do a number
of customer visits per day. The FSE is also responsible for sourcing, planning and achieving as much
new business for DHL. The FSE is also to work closely with the operations team and specifically the
territory couriers.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

 To source and obtain new business for DHL for all products, but with particular focus on
TDI business.
 To grow business from the existing client base while maintaining existing business and
relationships.
 To ensure that all clients are visited in line with agreed call cycles.
 To keep all customer related activity up to date and accurate in the DHL COMET system.
 To ensure that all KPI’s are met on a daily basis.
 To continuously analyze the performance of the FSE territory and come up with plans to
address issues identified.
 To continuously monitor customer agreements and ensure that customers and DHL are
fulfilling their obligations in terms of the agreements.
 To ensure that DHL’s brand and image are maintained at the highest possible levels through
behavior, appearance and dress code.

Essential Requirements

 Excellent selling skills, with sales experience (2-3 years).
 Customer service expertise at the highest levels.
 Strong communication skills in English.
 Ability to do presentations both formally and informally to all levels of customer.
 Good analytical skills.
 Ability to work well under pressure.
 Self starter – takes responsibility for own development.
 Valid driver’s license.
Desirable:
 Knowledge of the courier industry, or experience in courier / logistics / freight industry

