eLearning – Internship Opportunity

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The eLearning intern will be exposed to all activities related to the development of eLearning courses for community health workers (CHWs). This includes the production of instructional audio-visual materials that will be used during refresher trainings of CHWs.  This activity is in line with Ingobyi Activity support to the Rwandan Ministry of Health (MOH) to contribute to the reduction of infant and maternal mortality and incidence of malaria in Rwanda, focusing on improving the availability, quality, and utilization of RMNCH and malaria services and improving the health of women, adolescents, and children under five.

Under the direct supervision of Ingobyi Activity Digital health Officer, the eLearning intern will gain a deeper understanding and hands-on experience on the development of instructional audio-visual materials that are commonly used n eLearning platforms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The intern will have the opportunity to carry out a comprehensive list of activities, from creating and adapting training content to publishing and building it on the eLearning platform which will enrich the overall experience.

The main tasks include:

  • Structuring and building eLearning courses for CHWs according to the course design. This includes coordinating scriptwriting sessions, shooting, and editing videos with audio and pictures.
  • Coordinate audio-visual contents review sessions and improve materials accordingly
  • Adding/ uploading several types of content to the eLearning platform: text, image, and video
  • Converting files to the most adequate format to be published on the eLearning platform
  • Work with the eLearning team to provide technical support of various eLearning systems to community health workers.
  • Use existing database tools to collect data or consolidate data and help generate reports for evaluation of the eLearning program.
  • Support and maximize positive user experience by checking and updating courses and materials.
  • Create reports and presentations

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Fresh graduates – graduated within the last two years.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Communications, Graphic design, or related relevant field.
  • A minimum of a second-class division
  • Skilled in developing eLearning or distance learning (eg using Moodle or equivalent learning platform).
  • Interest in eLearning related activities
  • A self-starter and able to work with little direction/guidance with attention to detail.

Additional skills (Preferred)

  • Knowledge in video production and graphic design
  • Demonstrate excellence in design, layout, and typography
  • Knowledgeable in designing content for web and non-web applications.
  • Advanced level in using Adobe creative suite with the focus on Adobe premiere, After Effects, Adobe Audition, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Skilled in designing new material that is appropriate for the target audience.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized and able to work within demanding deadlines
  • A passion for creating stunning visuals for a wide range of projects/programs
  • Creative flair and a good eye for detail
  • An outstanding academic record at an accredited university
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
