DAFI Project Manager

(Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative)

World Vision is a child-focused Christian humanitarian organization implementing development programmes in 30 Districts of Rwanda. Our interventions in the strategic period of 2021-2025 seek to reach 2 million of the most vulnerable children. This is done through programming in Resilience and Livelihoods, WASH and Health, Child Protection and Education.

World Vision Rwanda seeks to hire a highly-qualified, dedicated and experienced Rwandan national for the role of DAFI Project Manager, joining an established and experienced team. This stimulating position incorporates a range of skills and development in multiple areas, allowing for an exciting opportunity for career growth in a dynamic, global organization. It will be based in Kigali, Rwanda and reports to the Head of Disaster Management. 

Purpose of the position:

The DAFI Project Manager is responsible for the management, coordination and implementation of a project supporting high learning studies for refugee students through DAFI scholarship. The project manager shall ensure regular monitoring and follow up on the students ‘attendance in order to reap good results from the scholarship offered by the program. He/she will be part of coordination meetings at national level and liaising with MINEMA, UNHCR, High learning institutions and partners.

Lead the development of DAFI project budgets and implementation plans.

Oversee the purchase and supplies of equipment acquisition, disposition, and management in compliance with World Vision (WV) and donor requirements.

Ensure that DAFI project adhere to the set standards (Donor, Government, Education sector).

Ensure integration of UNHCR education projects to government systems to optimize the use of resource for program impact

Ensure quality reports, documentation and dissemination of reports, innovations and best practices in accordance with internal and donor requirements.

Establish selection criteria that shall involve all levels that will facilitate the selection process upon available scholarships and ensure the selected candidates meet the criteria requirements that were set by the donor including recognized refugee status.

 Provide monthly allowances to all enrolled students and at the same time the project staff will provide financial education to all beneficiaries that will help them to use these allowances accordingly.

Provide technical support in resource acquisition and projects development related to education in emergency.

Establish and maintain effective partnerships with key actors in high learning schools, MINEDUC, REB, partners and other stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Professional Experience

1. 5 years’ experience in community development work, especially with most vulnerable communities.

2. Experience in management of education project in Emergency settings.

3. Strong skills in networking with education sector stakeholders at different levels.

4. Computer proficiency

5. Demonstrate problem solving skills.

Required Education,

training, license,

registration, and

certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social work or any other related field.

Preferred Knowledge

and Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in Education, Social work or any other related field.

2. Strong facilitation skills to prepare and conduct training sessions.

3. Ability to comply with do no harm principles.

4. Ability to work in a multi-culture setting.

Salary:

The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
