Community and Social Work Officer will be a crucial part of a team helping patients navigating the complicated levels of health and well being through the provision of psychosocial supports and other activities targeting patients at the end stage of live in order to provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes their healing, self-confidence and or emotional resilience.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
Qualifications and experience
- A0 degree holder in social work, sociology, psychology or other related health sector with background in nursing.
- At least three (3) years working experience in clinical HIV/AIDS programming.
- At least three(3) years working experience in clinical community health programming.
- At least two(2) years working experience in humanitarian settings.
- Excellent knowledge of community based participatory approaches(CBPA) such as participartory learning and action(PLA),etc.
- Excellent liaison abilities and good communication skills (French, Kinyarwanda and English preferred).
- Ability to produce basic reports in English.
- Computer knowledge (Ms office:Word,Excel,power points)

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
This position is on Child Safeguarding- Level 3: The post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs. Or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
