Job Description


The Network of Women Working for Rural Development (Women’s Network) is a national non-governmental organization of public interest, created in 1986 and governed by Law No. 04/2012 of 17/02/2012 on the organization and operation of national non-governmental organizations.

Since December 2022, in partnership with AMIE, the Women’s Network has been implementing the  “Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Rwanda (SRHR-Rwanda)” Project.

The project aims to achieve the following ultimate outcome: increased enjoyment of human rights related to health by the most marginalized and vulnerable rights holders, particularly women, adolescent girls and children. It will intervene at the level of: i) capacity building (training) in SRHR for community stakeholders, ii) awareness raising for diverse groups of women, adolescents as well as awareness raising for the benefit of the general public, iii) improvement of the delivery of SRHR services for target groups.

In addition, a Karame Specialized Clinic is established at the Headquarters of the Women’s Network in Kinyinya, the Clinic is used among other things for the screening and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), pregnancy monitoring with particular attention to teenage mothers and vulnerable mothers, prevention and treatment of STIs, carrying out family planning, etc.

The project is based in Gasabo District, Kigali City. It is in this context that the Women’s Network would like to recruit the following staff:

Position: Clinical Psychologist

Profile, qualification and technical competence of the candidate

Job Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Welcome clients and offer counseling to clients before screening for sexually transmitted diseases including HIV AIDS and provide appropriate support to victims of unsafe abortion, victims of GBV and sexual violence, etc.
  2. Contribute to the development of awareness-raising tools, organize and lead awareness campaigns on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, including the celebration of international days on SRHR;
  3. Coordinate the process of data collection and compilation, carry out related analyses and interpretations and produce periodic reports as well as success stories of the reporting period;
  4. Prepare reports on cases treated and/or referred in the field of counseling, psychiatric and psychosocial care and make recommendations to the appropriate persons for follow-up;
  5. Strengthen the visibility and credibility of the project;
  6. Facilitate the implementation of the National Family Planning and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights policy in Rwanda;
  7. Contribute to the supervision of the multidisciplinary team of the SDSR project, represent the organization when needed and replace the project coordinator in her absence; 
  8. Facilitate administrative and logistical procedures of activities in coordination with the project administrative team
  9. Contribute to the effective management of the budget allocated to the project;
  10. Manage, supervise and supervise consultants and suppliers of project services;
  11. Collaborate with other public and private institutions working in the field of SRHR (including local authorities, civil society and others), to defend the interests of target groups identified by the project;
  12. Provide daily support within the project team for prevention, stress management and develop a spirit of mutual aid among staff;
  13. Perform other tasks assigned to him by his supervisor related to his skills.

Job Requirements

  1. Possession of a university degree (minimum A0) in clinical psychology and mental health;
  2. 5 years of professional experience in the field of SRHR and services related to sexual violence, gender-based violence, is a great asset;
  3. Experience working with adolescents at the community level is a strong asset;
  4. Experience in supporting victims of gender-based and sexual violence;
  5. Experience in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment;
  6. Confidentiality, responsibility, autonomy and strategic thinking;
  7. Excellent communication skills, facilitation, teamwork and judgment and decision-making skills;
  8. Having a spirit of initiative and creativity in leading meetings, training workshops and youth events is an asset;
  9. Computer skills (Microsoft package);
  10. Fluency in Kinyarwanda, French and/or English (written and oral) is required.
  11. Having a degree in the health field (nursing) is a major asset
