CHILD PROTECTION CHARGE

Handicap International Federation, which implements its programs under its operational name  “Humanity & Inclusion” is  recruiting for its  “Ubuntu care  ” project  a Child Protection Officer  as part of a salaried position on a Fixed-term contract, with a trial period of 3 months.

DESCRIPTION OF THE FUNCTION

Under the responsibility of the Ubuntu Care Project Manager, the child protection officer is responsible for the implementation of the activities of the Ubuntu Care project in his area. More specifically he / she will be responsible for: 

  • Implementation of project activities
  • Capacity Building
  • Case management
  • Community awareness and awareness
  • Monitoring, evaluation and report writing
  • Implementation of the administrative aspect
  • HI and Duterimbere NGO Child Protection Policy / Risk Management Policy

EXPECTED PROFILE

 

Essential

Diploma  :

 

  • Minimum A0 university degree in Law and related fields.

Experiences

  • At least 3 years of experience in an international or national NGO working in the field of child protection, violence based on gender, age or disability,
  • Prior experience in the work and support of vulnerable children is essential
  • Experience in project monitoring and evaluation is essential
  •  Experience in technical support for key actors intervening in the field of child protection, gender-based violence, and / or disability is essential

Skills and

 

  • Perfect mastery of the key concepts of child protection, Gonder Based Violence.
  •  Have strong skills in training and capacity building
  • Have skills in participatory monitoring and evaluation
  • Be excellent in the preparation of written report in French and / or in English.
  • Very good knowledge of Word, Excel, power point
  • Ability to represent HI and maintain good relations with local authorities and partners
  •  Have experience in advocacy.
  •  Have practical knowledge in human resources management policy, and child protection policy for better protection against all forms of abuse and sexual exploitation.
