In April 2020, the SPACE located at KG 511 street, Kigali-Gasabo was inaugurated. This hybrid and multidisciplinary place is dedicated to artistic creation in the heart of Kigali. SPACE is a non-profit organization (NGO). 

A STAGE IN THE HEART OF Kigali FOR “THE DIALOGUE OF THE ARTS”

The artistic and cultural project of ESPACE aims to support the creation and distribution of live shows (adult, family, young audience), to promote cinema, the plastic arts and to encourage their encounter with all audiences. A specific, demanding project, in particular in favor of inventive interdisciplinary forms, with particular attention paid to creations integrating live music, dance, theater and cinema with the aim of raising everyone’s awareness of the decompartmentalisation and mixing of genres. Relationships built around shows included in the program, but also exhibitions and artistic practice workshops conducted in collaboration with the artists.

Job title:  Administration and communication officer 

Under the responsibility of:   the program manager (in close collaboration with the project director)

Place of work:  The position is based in Kigali; however, the incumbent should expect to spend up to 20% of the time occasionally in different provinces of Rwanda.

Duration of the contract:  Annually renewable 

Purpose of the position:  The incumbent will be responsible for managing all administrative aspects and communication of L’espace 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, marketing and communication or a related field.
  • Solid experience and work in the administration, marketing and communication field of a non-profit organization. 
  • Relevant experience minimum 2 years including a good command of French, English and Kinyarwanda both orally and in writing
  • Mastery of office tools
  • Mastery of social media
  • Organized and be persuasive
  • Spirit of synthesis and analysis

Role and responsibilities

  • Administrative support to the program manager
  • Creation and distribution of written communication tools, photos, press kits for cultural events (theater, dance, music, cinema, etc.) on social networks and other digital or physical platforms 
  • Administrative and logistical coordination of the normal activities of L’Espace (training, conferences, shows, film screenings, exhibitions, etc.) 
  • Basic secretarial tasks (mail, telephone, planning)
  • Administrative support to the accountant (holding of financial documents: VAT returns, contracts, invoices, receipts, etc.) 
  • Tenure of contractual documents (staff, subcontractors, artists, etc.)
  • Writing internal and external mail
  • Management of the daily operation of L’Espace

  • Mastering written and oral communication techniques
  • Be organized
  • Analyze and synthesize a lot of information
  • Ensure institutional and “field” monitoring
  • Maintain and develop networks, know the communication environment and its codes
  • Be innovative and have a spirit of initiative
  • Select and collaborate with external service providers (public, artists, partners, etc.)
  • Negotiate with various interlocutors, in person or on the phone
  • Develop and manage specific activity budgets 
  • Knowledge of artistic and cultural circles and of the creative industry would be an asset
