Maison Shalom wishes to recruit a socio-economic support project manager.

Purpose of the post Under the supervision of the Program and Monitoring-Evaluation Officer, the “economic support” project manager oversees the implementation of activities aimed at raising the socio-economic level of people supported by Maison Shalom to become financially autonomous through the implementation of entrepreneurial activities.

Specific tasks

Specifically, the socio-economic support project manager must accomplish the following main tasks:

  1. The coordination of all socio-economic support activities;
  2. The proposal of criteria and identification sheets for beneficiaries;
  3. Identification of beneficiaries and micro-projects;
  4. Train and support microproject promoters in the development of business plans;
  5. Train beneficiaries on the management of micro-projects in solidarity groups / cooperatives;
  6. Coordinate the study of files submitted by the promoters of micro-projects;
  7. Monitor the funding of micro-projects approved by the committee mandated for this purpose;
  8. Coordinate the monitoring of the funding granted;
  9. Identify partners in the business field for future partnerships;
  10. Offer the necessary training to build the capacities of project staff and beneficiaries;
  11. Organize, if necessary, visits to exchange experiences for the staff involved in the project and the beneficiaries;
  12. Evaluate the staff assigned to the economic support project at least twice a year and coordinate their activities;
  13. Establish an effective strategy for the success of the project for which he is responsible;
  14. Evaluate the impact of microprojects granted (baseline situation before funding and one year after funding);
  15. Write monthly, quarterly and annual reports on training provided, micro-projects financed, reimbursements and problems encountered.

Prepare and coordinate the meetings of the micro-project funding request analysis committee for which he / she provides the secretariat;

Skills and qualifications required

  1. Have at least A0 level in economics, finance, law or a related field with a minimum of three (5) years in the design, implementation, evaluation of development projects / programs;
  2. Skills in project cycle management – PCM and results-based management – RBM;
  3. Ability to work independently and under stress;
  4. Strong organizational skills and team management;
  5. Strong financial analysis skills;
  6. Strong writing skills;
  7. Strong ability to forge professional relationships with all categories of people;
  8. Ability to work under stress;
  9. Proficiency in IT tools (word processing software, spreadsheets, database management, etc.), financial management software;
  10. Fluency in French and English (spoken and written), fluency in spoken and written Kirundi / Kinyarwanda;
  11. With equal skills, female candidates will be favored. File elements:
